Generative AI (and specifically the LLM software category including things like ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and Grok as well as art/graphics generators like Midjourney) is ethically indefensible for writers or editors. It is entirely dependent on a business model built on plagiarism and intellectual theft.

I do not knowingly use Generative AI, LLMs, or other AI software options for any of my work. I guarantee that everything we do together will be 100% human created. We can use a computer’s help with things like spell checking or book design, but we will never use AI to self-generate creative content.

Writing and editing are skills everyone can learn. Using AI doesn’t make us better writers and it removes all the pleasure from the act of communicating. You CAN write, and you can learn to write better if you think you need to. I promise you don’t need any AI to do it.
